Hi just joined forum just got myself a 2001 330ci . can anyone help im having problem with the gears. What happens is the gear stick wont always go back to centre it stays oppisite gear 5 then sometimes goes back to centre position . anybody know what the problem is ?

Im not to good with mechanics myself so cant help you out much, but I'd say it was def a job for the garage.

Prob someone will be along later who knows a little more.

Oh and nice car you have there...I bet it can shift cant it?

have not put foot down keep missing gears you have to position gear stick into position to put in gear so try to hit 5th then hit 3rd try to hit 5th then hit 3rd tod1y went to hit fith and hit 1st so not good . then it seems to click and be ok and centres then starts doing it again

dont worry about ti mine doest it all of the time eventually sorts itself out once the engine warms up, usually does it when its been really cold

I've no idea what it is bt if it aint broke...dont fix it
