Help needed,

Looking to purchase my first BMW X5, cant wait to get my hands on 1.

But wanting to know what's the tell tale signs of possible problems e.g faulty gearbox etc

welcome to the forum stevie2, not sure on the problems.

my dad has one and so fare touch wood its been fantastic.

tyres are expensive if your lots of miles as usual, but one prob my dad had was just a badly refurbished alloy.

i said id repair it for him but his reply '' why when i can just get some 20s+ !!'' :lol:

magic. i think i could cope with that problem. Was just wanting to check before spending a lot on one.

looking for an E53.

they really are fantastic cars, not for off road use but they dont really make them for that now!

my dads is the 3.0 diesal, i was surprised at how much pull it has for a big automatic car it has, overtaking is no problem at all and it feels nicly planted for corners to!

id have one :D

Hi Stevie I also have a 2006 X5 3.0 Diesel Sport.

TBH at first I wasn't to sure about the engine in such a big machine so was toying with the 4.4L Petrol but when I test drove the 3.0D I have to say as Andy sayed the pull of it all the way from stop right up is excellent esp with the box in S mode. :D

I was well impressed with the pulling power and the torque touch hairy wood but since I have had her I've had no problems with it at all(fingers crossed)lol

Got my E53 3.0 i last year. 112500 miles and drives like she has done 30000. ;)

Changed front anti roll bar bush's thats it. £130 all in.

Need my 22" refurbishment and its sorted out
