Causing faulty bulb warning on dash

Trying to replace but there is no room to get my hand in to turn holder to get it out as to tight to air box any suggestions ? Or do I need to remove airbox or the headlamp assembly ?

Hi.

You can remove either the airbox or the headlight easy enough, although the bulbs just push in if I remember right.

It will be easier to remove the airbox as you would probably have to move it to get to the screws at the base of the light.

Thank you I can pull the connector off the bulb holder but unless you have babies hands there is no room to get your hand in to get enough purchase to twist the bulb holder out. So looks like the air box will have to come out first ! Nothing easy on a beamer ! Lol

BMW E70 Headlamp bulb change = Remove Wheel remove wheel arch liner reach in and change ???? What happened to lamps being changed at the road side 🤣

Sadly BMW are not alone there are several Manufacturers where simple bulb changes need lots of dismantling french poo had one of their models where the front wing had to be removed. I still love my Beemer even if it does make me scratch my head sometimes

This is where small child comes in handy. I had to do the same in my old Golf and I found holding the child by the legs upside down she was able to get her small hands inbetween the battery box and light unit to get to the bulb.

After that I was tempted to send her up the chimney. Sadly she is now too big to change bulbs, and would now certainly moan about helping to do it. I think the Victorians had the right idea!
