E70 tyres

Featured Replies

Does anyone know where I can get 315 40 r20 non run flat tyres fir my e70 X5?

Morning Sway-Z

Welcome to the Forum

All of BMW approved tyre suppliers produce both run flat and non run flat tyres in the correct sizes, so Bridgestone, Michelin, Pirelli, then there are the middle market Yokohama, Hankook etc

I think you need to check the size as my E70 X5 runs Front 275x40xR20 and Rear 315x35xR20 also a word of warning don't change just front or rear as the difference in rolling radius can cause transmission wind up and damage to Diffs and Transfer box (New tyres are cheaper than a Transfer box or Diff)

An internet search should identify a supplier near you, my X5 E53 is currently on Yokohama brought from Kwik Fit on a deal 3 years ago and my X5 E70 is on Hankook brought from Black Circles last year just under £800 fitted (another deal)

Thanks Dave.

My X5 has the same profile as yours. However, as I have a factory fitted tow bar, my car comes with uprated suspension and that along with the run flats, it's a very unforgiving ride, so I just wanted to increase the profile slightly if I could, but thanks for letting me know I have to do. All 4 tyres at the same time.

Hi Gary

Doesn't your X5 have self levelling rear suspension ? I have not seen an E70 that's on springs? My own X5's both have Factory Tow bars and both are on self levelling air suspension. Non runflats give a better choice of tyre and yes you will feel the difference in ride

If your on air suspension make sure it hasn't been played with you should measure bottom of wheel rim to wheel arch through the centre cap measurement on the E70 should be 720mm I have seen two that were altered to 690mm and both had a terrible jolty ride on poor surfaces. If your on steel springs your car may have been converted by a previous owner

Hi Dave.

My X5 is on rear air suspension and I'll check the rear ride height as soon as I get home.

Hi guys!

Does anyone know where I can get a replacement exhaust, maybe stainless steel or an aftermarket performance for X5 E70 30l petrol?

Doesn't seem to be any out there!

I only need the back box, is it possible to use the 30l diesel back box?
