2017 bmw x5 35i crank no start

Featured Replies

Hello guys I have a 2017 bmw x5 with a couple codes I have attached them to this post

135808 Valvetronic Servomotor, Position Sensors, Electrical:

Malfunction Permanent

194604 Diagnostic Module For Tank Leaks (NVLD), Electrical: Line

Disconnection

Permanent

164020 Intake Camshaft Sensor, Electric: Short Circuit To B+ Intermittent

108A10 PhausibiAir Temperature Sensor, Electrical: Signal Not Intermittent

164021 Intake Camshaft Sensor, Electric: Short Circuit To Ground Intermitten

Where I am puzzled is is the crank no start from the sensors or from the Valvetronic motor ? I’d like to know what you guys think of these codes and let me know what you think

Morning Denzell

Welcome to the Forum

Yes the permanent faults could well give no start condition. I would start with a continuity check of the engine bay loom and connectors, if they check out OK then test the sensors with permanent faults (you should find test parameters online) That should give you a clear picture of where the issue is, the short circuit faults need investigation and repair (loom/connectors)

I would also check the ECU (DME) connector pins for any signs of degrading/moisture/corrosion check fuel rail pressure and sensor also

Good Hunting
