Hi

I'm new to the forum and am currently looking to buy a 2019 X4 20d X Line showing 66,000 miles.

I went to inspect and test drive the car today. I used the infotainment system to check the service history. This is supposed to be a fully BMW dealership maintained car. The history shows a dealer code of 08615 for the PDi and first two services. After that there are services showing but no dealership code, the display shows 00000. My first question is, can I check the service history in any other way. Secondly, could a non franchised BMW specialist repairer enter services etc, but have no dealer code to enter?

The other question relates to the vehicle check screen. On my M Sport 20d 3 series estate, I can check front and rear brake pad mileage before replacement. On the X3, there is no display. Was this removed from the menu when the new model was

The car appears to be in good condition. A couple of minor bits That I'm happy are age/mileage related.

Thanks if advance for any help your help. Sorry that my first post is a number of questions.

Best regards Cliff

Hi All

I've just noticed any error in my first post. The car is looked at was an X3, bot an X4. The rest of the post is correct. Regards Cliff

Hi Cliff

I believe you are spot on if there is no dealer code it wasn't a BMW Dealer so you have no proof other than an entry on the infotainment that it was done unless there a receipts with the paperwork

As for brakes the problem comes from use eg. A high mile motorway warrior will cover huge distances between brake use/application so needing a change where as a School run car may use its brakes much faster, for me physical inspection is the only way
