Hi Dave, I had a problem today when I lost power steering and my battery light came on. I assumed the belt had gone but the car was still mobile. I'm looking for advice on what belt to replace it with, Gates or BMW ? cheers Paneuro.

    When I rebuilt the E53 4.6is engine BMW didn't have the Crank Damper or Belt tensioners and they were on long lead times. I brought Gates replacements after talking to an engine tuner in the States saved money and 80k later they have just out lasted the OEM stuff. I would check the tensioner carefully maybe worth replacing Belt and Tensioner

    I would have no worries about using replacements from Gates
