A couple of weeks ago I was a very silly boy - I spilt water onto the iDrive controller of my 2010 F10. The system functioned intermittently for a while then packed in but then came back to life apart from the fact that I cannot now activate a selection with the control wheel. For example, I may select 'Radio', move up and down the stations but nothing happens when I press the wheel down to engage. Also, none of the other buttons work on the controller when they are pressed to select. Do I need a new unit?

Electrics and fluids never mix well, probably easier to change the controller get the part number of the unit fitted and Google for sources

So far as i know they are not usually a known failure point so id look out for a second hand unit. Shouldnt be hard to find. Wouldnt want to ask how much a new one would be 😬
