Hi all, just checking I am not missing anything on this. The BMW badge boot opener on my E64 seems to have lost the spring back action. It still opens the boot but then does'nt return to the flat on release, instead staying depressed. Is this a new part or is there a repair possible.  2006 E64.

Not sure if you can take it apart I guess it depends on Cost ££ if a new one is horrendous it must be worth taking it off and seeing what you can do. Tried WD40

Hi Dave, yes WD40 was the first thing I tried. Seems like the spring may have failed, so not sure I can actually repair it. It still operates the automatic opener just does'nt return to flush after doing so.

Check www.realoem.com put the last 7 digits of your Vin in the search box then look for what you need at least you will have a part number if you are searching for a replacement

OK gents, well the spring action came back. I gave it a good Wd40 spray some months back but it has taken to late March to see the spring action has returned.
