Morning all, firstly merry Xmas to all.

Currently have a 2006 e60 535d (pre lci) and as the title hints we've issues with dreaded Active steering rack.

So initially I thought the seals had went as I had fluid coming out one of the boots to the tie rods. After the garage stripping it out we've now found the steering angle motor is goosed.

Trying to source a second hand rack (32106777493) is beyond a joke and now that we've traced it to the motor, refurb looks out of the question.

This is where you all come in, does anyone know of companies that may specialise in this sort of thing for the motor, recommend anyone breaking similar or any other advice. Screenshot_20211206_151141.thumb.jpg.e5c591ddb38e22297e002d4dcf2fcac3.jpg

Seasons Best Scott

I would talk to BBA Reman or ECU Testing, both companies are well known and have good reputations for repairing/improving parts that BMW (and other Manufacturers say you can't)

You can also check the BMW Specialist Recyclers I have used Quarry Motors in the past they are knowledgeable and quick.

Good Luck

Hi Dave, first place I checked was Quarry with a long list of breakers but unfortunately these things are like gold dust.

I'll try bba and ecu before continuing with my quest for the Holly grail lol
