Hello everyone,

I intend to purchase a 2013ish X3 F25, but would like to know beforehand, the difference in ride comfort levels between the SE and MSport models.

Are the Msports that much harder ride ?

Many thanks

Jeremy

Morning Jeremy

Welcome to the Forum

My experience with the X5 is tyres make the difference, my X5 on 20" summer wheels and tyre and sport suspension is quite harsh at times particularly if the road surface isn't good. On it's 18" winter tyres it is very different

Our friends 2014 X3 is very comfortable it is an SE on 19" wheels (but remember I am used to an X5)

Good luck with the purchase

Dave

Thanks for your experience Dave, I guess the question still remains, would anyone with an MSport X3 2.0D like to add something ?

Many thanks

Jeremy

Hi Jeremy - my suggestion if you can is to select a model with the variable suspension settings (an optional extra at new).  I have a 12 plate X3 F25 with that options and  I can best describe as a little like having two cars in one.  The setting in 'Sports' mode tightens steering, throttle response and gives to sports suspension, then in 'Comfort' mode it copes with speeds bumps , pot holes and gives a more sedate experience.

Just a thought if you are looking at a choice of cars.

Cheers

Thanks for your suggestion Nigel, unfortunately, variable suspension models are like hen's teeth and, when available, beyond my budget.

I'm sure the X3 MSport, can't be much harder than my Z4 E89 on run flats.

Thanks again

Jeremy

Understood Jeremy, I haven't been looking at the market recently but can imagine there aren't a lot about - really is a shame as it is such a good option.

Good luck, I may be selling my F25 X3 3.0 Diesel that I've owned from new in a few months, so if you don't have any luck give me a shout.

Cheers

Nigel
