Hi

A curious thing. I can't seem to buy a OEM rear exhaust for my daughter's 118d m sport has developed a tinny rattle and sou d's like the baffle in the rear exhaust box has detached.

Try to find a replacement OEM part seems impossible as all the major exhaust repair say their suppliers do not make them.

This means we have to pay £421 for BWW part plus £100 fitting? This seems excessive for such a small part.

Morning Ian

Welcome to the Forum

My sons friend just brought the same part, then they used my garage and tools (tea, coffee, beer) to fit it

He brought it from Bosal (BMW OEM Supplier) using the BMW part number think it was around £150 from memory

Try www.realoem.com put the last 7 digits of the Vin number in the search box to bring up the model, then search for the part number you need. Then cross reference against after market suppliers.

I am sure you can find what you need at a sensible cost

Good Luck

Dave

Hi Dave,

That is very interesting. I've tried several exhaust centres who said Bosal do not make this part?

Thanks for the update I'll contact them directly.

I had the same issue with my daughter's clutch plate and when I contacted the supplier the said their replacement clutch plates were identical to the BMW branded version and made on the same production line.

Thanks,

Ian

Hi Dave,

I have some amazing news thanks to your help. I got the part number through the real OEM website, but it soon became apparent that Bosal had ceased working in the UK. I found the part from a Dutch company with a presence here in the UK. They are called winparts and had good reviews on trust pilot. The amazing part was the Bosal tailpipe was £68!

Thanks again for all your help.

Ian
