issue with rear passenger side lights!!

Featured Replies

hi guys I've currently got a issue with my rear side lights on the passengers side, the other side works fine, when I press the break the break light works on the passengers side...im lost I've changed both bulbs..what could be the issue as my indicators are now flashing rapidly so need it sorted..any advice would be appreciated.

Hi Mark....welcome to the Forum

It sounds like one of two things....first one is that you have the wrong bulb(s) check that if the bulb holder has one or two contact points then the bulb should have the same amount also.

Secondly, if the earth connections are poor then this could also produce the same effect....try running an additional earth wire to the side of the bulb and see it that cures it.

Let us know how you get on with it

Hi Trevor, cheers for your reply..

Checked all the bulbs and they are fine also tried running a earth still no luck.. I have turn every exterior light on and all but two come on which are the 2 side lights on the rear pass side, when I press the breaks the one comes on?? When hazards are on the indicators flash normally but as soon as I indicate they rapidly flash again..its just the 2 bulbs at the bottom of the cluster that don't come on.. Do you think it could be the footwell unit?? I've got the MOT on Monday which I suggest will fail due to this.

thanks Mark

Worth checking the light clusters for corrosion...but as the indicators are working on the hazard switch then its doubtful that there is an issue with them as the hazards come from a different power source than the indicators....so yes you may be right with the footwell unit diagnosis
