Morning,

Ok, picked up my first 1 series yesterday, a 2014 116D. All in all it looks and it drives great, but i do have one question.

Is there some trim missing around the base of the wipers? I don't know, it just looks odd, is there meant to be something that runs along the width? There looks to be holes for something fix in to.

I've googled for pictures of other cars and it's all a bit hit & miss on the results. Is it meant to look like this?

Morning Chris

Google www.realoem.com in the search box put the last 7 digits of your Vin and it will bring up the parts list for your model. Look in vehicle trim for windscreen cowl outer the drawings should give you a clue as to whether something is missing or not.

Its a very useful site for part numbers so you can cross reference parts and costs when buying them

According to the parts, it's meant to look like that. Fair enough, still looks half finished to me.

The only problem I have is the missing cig lighter, but I think I can figure that one out.

One of the things you can do is to check out other models in the range to see what parts can be transferred model to model. With the X5 the main loom is pretty standard so adding little luxuries is pretty much plug and play.

Good luck with the cigarette lighter LOL
