Hi, I have an X5 e70 3.0d sport and am getting around 17.8mpg round town taking it easy. Is this the norm or are people getting better ? Thanks for your replies.

    The 3.0 litre engine is quite thirsty but I would have thought it would have been up in the low 20's at least.

    You could look at a Tuning Box to enhance MPG...I fitted one to my Honda CRV cdti last week and it's now getting around 10-12% increase on MPG.

    Cheers Trevor, my car has got the big wheels on it 20" 315mm which probably won't help but looks good ha. I will get it remapped after Christmas probably and see how it performs then. The transmission faults I had were down to the battery and has been sorted now.
