"Brake pads need to be replaced" message

Hi. I'm hoping somebody has had this before and has an idea of how to fix this.

I had all 4 brake pads, discs and sensors replaced, 2 months ago. Then last week, I got the message on my trip and central computer saying "Continue journey at moderate speed. Brake pads need to be replaced. Have brake pads checked by service".

The performance of the car hasn't been affected, the car hasn't gone into limp home mode. Is this message something I can clear in the car's computer or do I need to take this into BMW to get them to clear it. As I said, all the pads and discs have been replaced. They definitely do not need changing.

    Hi James,

    I would take the car back to where the pads were changed and get them to check the system to make sure nothing is wrong.

    Alternatively, they may just need to reset the system to know it had new brake system components...but I would still take it back for them to sort out..at no extra charge!
