Electric folding mirrors

Hello,

I am new to the forum.

I have just bought a 2015 new shape X1 and wonder please if anyone can advise on electric folding  mirrors.

Is it possible to buy them and have them fitted for this model and if so where would I get them from and how much re buy and fitting.

    Hi Steve...welcome to the Forum!

    Have seen posts about retro-fit electric mirrors on other vehicle make forums so it is possible as the manufacturers usually run the wiring to where the (modified) switch would be and then the dealers/manufacturers can then just fit the folding mirror package as required.

    I would imagine you need the replacement parts (eBay?) and then code it into the electronic body control system once fitted.

    Anyone else done this mod?

    Hi, I too have a 2015 X1 that I have just bought and would like to fit folding mirrors. I spoke to my local BMW dealer here in Liverpool and they informed me that a retro fit kit was not available, so maybe just fitting the new parts will not work,maybe the wiring has not been put there at the time of manufacture,when the mirrors would have been fitted as per original customer order. I suppose the only way to find out,will be to fit and see,(if the wiring exists,etc).Fingers crossed,someone can provide accurate info.
