Hi all , I am new to this site and new to owning a Bmw. I have just bought a 525d (2009) and want to know if anyone can tell me if my car has swirl flaps fitted. Can anyone out there help?

i have also a 2004 525 se and wondering as well

Hi Mark

Have a look at www.realoem.com put the last 7 digits of your Vin number in the search box it will bring up your model then look under the engine section and the inlet manifold will be with or without flap control. Obviously if it has flap control it has swirl flaps. Same for your other car though I think only diesels have swirl flaps.

Hi Mark....how did you get on with finding out whether it has got swirl flaps?

not much as yet, i will try to do with vin number, but i have been out of action , mri scan done my back in nerves damage so i have been lazy ,but i will do the weekend  order then follow instructions to fit but it may wait a few weeks until i feel better, then oil ,filter and air filter, if i lose a bit of woosh i will get remap as well, thanks  Trever for reply i did put pics of my other car on 

 

 

hi have done swirl flaps and posted reply, they took the bigger blanks, hope my other post helps some ,it was easy job
