Removing Oem Phone Cradle.

Hi guys,

Whilst I was wiring my Angel Eyes up I had the glove box out and found the control unit for the phone cradle.

Can I just rip all that stuff out? If not, any idea how to do it?

Has anyone made any kind of modification to enable a modern phone to be stored there?

    Steve, none of the steering wheel controls worked on my e46 when I got it, so I just cut the wiring to the cradle, undid the screws and chucked it. I did just put some insulating tape around the cut wires to be on the safe side. Not sure, however, what the effect could be if wires and controls were still technically live? Does your music work from the steering wheel controls?

    The steering wheel controls seem to work fine so far, I'm thinking of T-ing into the power source and getting some usb ports in the glove box. And one of those Connects2 type boxes for the stereo would sit nicely in the glove box.
