Dear all newbee looking for advice. I recently purchased an E46 320i 2.2 M sport in silver on a 05 plate nice car. When inspecting the car before I bought it i only checked the trad on the tyres and not make or size although the tread was very good so never gave it much thought. The car has a steering issue and I am in the process of eliminating the problem.on inspecting the tyres I have noticed alarming issues. The front tyres are FALKEN & PIRELLI 225 x 40 x 18,,,,,, the back tyres are BRIDGESTONE 255 x35 x 18 this is a run flat tyre ,,,, the other tyre is a Chinese make 255 x 35 x 18 a non run flat. I want to change all 4 ASAP but I don't want to waste £££ and would like some advice as to what size for the rear and which make of tyre.

Many thanks for any help in this issue.

The tyre sizes are correct as you have the staggered system same as most E46's. Very much doubt they are run flats, as for brand thats personal choice but some are noisier than others

Thanks mike for your reply , after much research I have opted fro Michelin pilot sport 3.

I have seen some tourers with 225 front & rear I just needed clarification I was going in the right direction.

I think the seller put whatever he had on the car and I just never checked

My 330d msport has staggered wheels.

Another way to check is some online tyre companies ask for your registration number, then give you the correct tyre sizes

I tried that with black circle tyres but that wasn't much help.

New tyres are ordered and will be getting fitted this week.
