  1. If it's the cigarette type socket you want to add then on mine I have an extra outlet under the glove box that was fitted at the factory.
  2. Hi Trevor, The first pic shows the lamp on the metal panel, the second shows the original hole and the lamp hanging on the cable.
  3. I have read many find that when they latch the boot floor up the boot light is obscured. I bought two LED strips for £3 of a well known auction site, I took the original light out and connected one of the strips to the plug and attached two small magnets to the back so I can reposition it wherever I want in relation to the cable length.
  4. I need to update my profile as it showing my old BMW. I'm not sure an aftermarket system is that easy to fit in the F30.
  5. I have just purchased a 2013 F30 320i Xdrive and the bluetooth functions are rubbish compared to my 2009 Ford Mondeo. On the Ford I could get the list of last dialled calls, last incoming calls and all my contacts on the phone option. I also had voice control for everything. On the BMW all I can get it a list of contacts and no voice control. Disappointed is an understatement.
  6. Get the codes read, it could be a number of things. How long have you had the car and what sort of driving do you do? The DPF could need regenerating, this can be done by starting it through one of the code readers available quite cheaply on the internet. Otherwise you need to drive the vehicle at a constant speed of 60 mph or above for about 30 mins to start it whilst driving. One of which is the C110 BMW scanner cost around £30 delivered on Ebay
  7. Are you sure they're not heated as I believe they are only activated when the outside temp gets below 3˚
  8. Have you tried resetting the sensors? Start the car then press and hold the tyre pressure sensor button until the light comes on, then release and start driving
  9. Some makes of tyre can cause the same symptoms.
  10. Maybe it was purchased by a serving member of the armed forces, but the finance fell through
  11. Usually there is a card with the diagram on tucked into the bottom of the fuse box. It looks like a small white tab sticking out. This maybe the one you need 6567_1378031994524.jpg
  12. Handbrake off, wheel off. Then just rotate the disc after each click of the adjuster
  13. You get to the adjusters through one of the bolt holes in the wheel, then use a small flat screwdriver to turn the wheel on the adjuster. If you do a search on the internet videos will most likely be available
  14. There should be plenty of feeds from the fuse behind the glovebox. In line fuse size depends what you intend to plug in to the socket, different things pull different amps.
  15. Not sure about newer head units. If it's a BMW one then it possibly will but the main plug on the back of radio will probably be different. I think your radio plug has round pins where as the newer ones have flat pins, it may be possible to get a patch lead to connect the two different types
  16. Disconnecting the battery will not effect the alarm central locking etc. All it will do is reset all the non critical ecu's and modules. Everything will still work once reconnected, and hopefully the changer and aux port The changer has a fuse in the back of it, it may also be worth taking the unit out and checking that as well
  17. That's expensive my local BMW dealer quoted me £181.60 to change the oil in the transfer case and the rear diff. The oil for the transfer case is around £30 from BMW.
  18. For the first two try disconnecting the battery for 20 mins, this will reset the various modules except the security ones. When installing the AUX port did you unplug the lead for the disc changer and forget to plug it back in?
  19. At least it turned out to be a cheap and easy fix
  20. Take it to a BMW specialist ( not necessarily a dealer ) and see if they can use DISS to force a regeneration. This software will also be able to tell them when the last regen was performed
  21. I had a similar problem on a Jaguar XJ6, that was the bottom bush on the shock absorber worn. Also same type of thing on an X type Jag, that was the front bush on the rear trailing arm
  22. I have a 2007 X3, I notice the newest X series vehicles have xdrive on the side. What is the difference between the system on my vehicle and the system on the new vehicles?
  23. Light on or not, it will store fault codes in memory. Get them read and go from there
  24. Most dealers have a complete set for just this problem. They can then get the key number from the one that fits, the number should be on one end of the original.
