As the title says, just got myself a 1993 325i vert and the brake pedal is rock solid?! Any ideas on what could be the cause?

Seized caliper(s).

But it free wheels well? Ordered a servo and master cylinder today tobswap over at the weekend hoping that's the cause after doing some research

Somehow doubt it, but I hope I'm wrong. If there's a problem with those, I'd expect the brakes to be spongy rather than hard?

Lingo, how did you get on? My guess was seized caliper too but then I know very little about the brakes on our cars

A quick google search threw up a few threads about possible vacuum (air) leaks causing stiff brake pedal and checking all of the lines may show up a fault. Might be worth a look. This can also result in a slight missfire of rough idle. Apparently.

The servo and master cylinder that were sent were wrong so no luck as yet. I too have read those threads hence the purchase of the relevant parts. I have no ruff idle though and the non return value on the vacuum hose is working. So I'm almost certain it's servo related
