I have a 2008 520d m sport. It has the phone compatible steering wheel but no Bluetooth. I'd quite like to have that extra so what would I need to enable the Bluetooth phone system?

I mean what parts etc.

I've found a Bluetooth module on ebay but I have no idea what I need.

Many thanks in advance.

A transmission and a receiver :-p

I take the piss sorry... Have a look in the boot area for the BT module... U have the compatible Head-Unit so the wiring is there... The module should reside near the audio on the left as u stand at the boot area...

Ok so ill check if the BT module is there. If it is? Is it just a case of switching it on? Programming it in?

If it isn't there, is that just a case of buying a module and plugging it in?

Cheers for your help Jim

Hi,

The module is on the Nearside boot panel on the wheel arch nearest the back seat.

Do you Communication in the start menu on the iDrive (Click the centre on start screen)

This is how you pair the Bluetooth.

Or check the arm rest for a cradle holder.

On the 2008, I would go for a Fiscon OE Style Bluetooth kit, this will work all the buttons on the steering wheel and the iDrive will show the address book and calls.

Great system.

The car will probably need to be coded for the telematics setting. This can be done at a dealer or specialist with the correct programming tool.
