I've just bought an BMW 318CI convertible 2002 - Auto (N42 Engine) 84K

Its amazing owning this motor at 20 years of age :D

Heard lots about these engine (N42) aren't really good :(

when the car is cold the car runs rough at low rpm's and feels like its gonna stall (sometimes engine management light comes on but goes away after engine warms up), other than that no problem :)

i wouldnt worry my m3 when cold is awful, just needs to warm up a little its a beemer thing!!!

Welcome to the club, Ashwani. Nice motor there. If you don't mind me asking, just out of interest, what does your insurance cost you? I'd imagine a fair bit at your age?

I am paying £160/month for 3 months until March. By March I will be completing my 3 years no claim and also i'll be turning 21 in Feb; Hoping to drop a lot after March ;)

Before this monster motor :p i used to drive VW Golf mk4 1.6 and i was paying £110/month.

im 27 i pay £455 fully comp for my m3 with 8years no claims

i had a fiesta rs turbo when i was 20 and paid £1700 3rd party :o with 1years no claims

being aged 25 or above is a big help, i had the audi when i turned 25 went from £990 fcomp to £395 fcomp :D
