hi thanks for all your help on my previous posts I hope someone might be able to point me in the right direction again. the air bag light on my 1998 523 e39 has come on today it lights up as normal when you turn ignition on it briefly goes out for a split second and then comes back on and stays on it happened just after I moved the drivers seat so I checked the connections to the seat all seems fine ive tried disconnecting the battery hoping that would reset it but no. is there a way to reset or diagnose the system without a proper diagnostic tool are there any common problems on this system thanks for all your help!

Usually the passenger seat that causes it ! Sit in it or have someone else sit there to see if it goes out, check those connections too while you're at it...
