Good Morning, I currently have an 05 plate e46 320ci m-sport that I am looking to sell however unsure on the price. Wondered if anyone could help. Full service and MOT history in mineral grey colour with unmarked grey rims, it is in very good condition for a 20 year old car. I have had it for 4 years from 52k miles, currently has around the 84k miles mark. it has grey leather seats, electric fold in mirrors, upgraded custom sound system with 10inch sub fitted into boot, full spare wheel in boot, original tool kit and first aid kit. Drives lovely with no lights on the dashboard and has been very well looked after. I have had no problems with the car since owning it and I am sad to part ways with it. Any help would be appreciated and I am happy to provide pictures of the car.

Greydog started following X3 2019 Rear roundal badge

Morning Brian Welcome to the Forum First I would get the replacement that will be let you see how it is fixed. Next removing the old one, I changed both mine a couple of years back due to fading. The boot one had some sort of glue/mastic under it. I used my heat gun on a low setting to soften everything up then masked around it to prevent scratches and prised it off with a plastic trim remover took quite a bit of levering Hope this is useful Dave

Hi My rear badge emblem has fallen off ! I'm left with what looks like a hard plastic curved shell attached to the car Various videos suggest on older cars these can be prised off the car, but I'm not convinced with this and am concerned about trying this . Any help here would be very much appreciated

Vinceh. started following Scratching on rubber trim and Do I stick or twist?
-
Hi all, PCP is up in September and I don't know whether to refinance the balloon payment for another 4 years, or start again with a 2023 320i. Nothing wrong with the 5 series, apart from I wish I had Android Auto and split rear seats would have come in handy. My also concern is that with 56,000 miles, I could start to see more things go wrong (not that they haven't on the last 3 odd years I've had it). What is putting me off the 3 series is the £620 road tax and that all the temp controls are via the infotainment. Monthly cost works out about an extra £40 a month. Just wondering what others think?
-
Hi all, Have these scratches on the rubber trim at the bottom of the windows on my 5 series, suspect thanks to whoever has been washing it. Has anyone attempted to either replace the trim or paint it?

BMW CHANGING GEAR TO NEUTRAL DURING DRIVING
Greydog replied to cris carter's topic in BMW X3 Series Forum
Morning Chris Welcome to the Forum It could be a number of things you need a Diagnostic Scan to tell you more It could be anything from a Gear selector switch to a Service on the box needed and several things in between Dave -
Morning Cornel Most Main Dealers are North of £200 per hour Google the register of BMW Specialists they are normally ex BMW Tech's and will have all the Kit and Knowledge you need more important their Hourly rates are around half the Main Dealer's same applies to ZF Trans Specialist's I have always serviced my own cars (hobby) and my wife thinks it's safer than me helping in the garden 😁 I did my X5 earlier this year I brought genuine a ZF service kit £190 OEM Transfer case fluid £70 front and rear diffs £80 total £340 The transfer case on an E70 is a Faff as BMW decided to hide the drain plug behind the Transfer box support cradle but once I worked it out it went well, whole job took me a morning with coffee and biscuits Dave

Hi Dave, thanks for the reply. I've only had the car for 2 weeks and so far it's running good, i could probably diy-it but I've not done it before so the missus won't let me🤣( it's her car) . Local BMW dealer quote me 830£ for gearbox service and 550£ for transfer box/boxes service. Safe to say I told them I'll sleep on it for a bit😁

im having this issue where during driving the car changes to neutral , has happend twice now. car is x3 f25 20d

I’m guessing this one hasn’t been serviced since it was born! … I took the filter box apart and it needs replacing. Someone has tried to fix it before, but it’s beyond alive now! Haha. the bootlid needs either pushing out or replacing, as does the rear bumper after it got into a fight with a bus… and a rear light… apart from that, it seems well. 😂

Great little cars Stu A neighbour has one and she loves it they do need a good annual service though, seen several that were unreliable due to not being used much and waiting for the service indicator to tell them it needed service? One was 5 years between services? You will also need a good code reader Dave

Well… we have a freind at church who has been struggling with the car and I haven’t ever had time to look at it. So, we upgraded the Peugeot to a Porsche and felt it right to gift her the Peugeot. in return, I have taken the mini and intend to spend some time on it before gifting it to someone else who needs a car. drove it home and it had more lights than Blackpool.! spent an hour or so tinkering and I have got it down to two issues. The air filter needs replacing and it is showing a code of 2983 inlet cam sensor. im going to order me a Bosch one and hopefully the engine will run a lot better… after its had a tank of redex! any other suggestions or things I should look for?

Need help identifying burnt part
Greydog replied to DDMORE's topic in Audio/Video/Electronics/Security
Morning Dan Welcome to the Forum As it isn't a BMW Part I am not sure there will be help here, unless a member on here has come across the same issue Maybe Google to see if there is a Harmon Kardon Forum to see if they have more information Good Luck Dave -
Following further conversation with the owner, he has corrected me to say its a September 1995 model. 5.4ltr V12 SWB. Apparently there were very limited numbers of this model in right hand drive. Any interest of advice please let me know.
-
Morning Cornel Welcome to the Forum Your Gearbox is ZF GA8HP45Z which I believe ZF advise should be serviced every 60 to 100000 km dependent on environment and use (Climate Towing etc) If you feel like teasing your local BMW Dealer service manager ask him if it's sealed for life why do BMW have a gearbox service kit on their parts list 😅 Transfer case is ATC 35L Personally if it is running well and at the low miles you have it isn't an urgent priority. 12 years is a stretch I would look for a good Independent or better a ZF Transmission Specialist if you can't DIY Dave

Need help identifying burnt part on water damaged Harman Becker amplifier. Part # 9320214 - model BE B220. I am trying to repair this unit and one component is burnt beyond recognition. It has 4 pins and is SMD package. Attached are pictures of where the component is on the PC board. If anyone has an amplifier that is model BE B220 or similar and could take a high resolution picture of the component so I can get the SMD code from it I can look it up.

Hello. I recently bought a X1 20D auto, 2012 with 8k miles on it. I'm thinking I have to change the gearbox and transfer box oil/fluid purely because of the age of the car. BMW dealer stands by "seal for life" crap but I'm not sure what to think. It's basically 12-13 years old fluid in there. I've read previous posts about ZF recommending at 60k miles for gearbox oil and 30-60k for transfer boxes fluids. In my case, at 8k miles do I need to change it? Thanks 👍

Morning Luis Welcome to the Forum You can check by using a BMW Vin decoder website put in your Vin number and it will bring up the build sheet for your car. If the car is Bluetooth equipped you will find either SA633 or SA644 codes, if they are there then the car is Bluetooth equipped. Two things will stop it working (1) The Bluetooth memory is full 4 phones I think. (2) the Telematics unit in the Boot/Trunk left side is not working If your not seeing a Bluetooth function then it will be the Telematics unit and its antenna. First check the boot area left side if the telematic unit is there unplug it and get the part number from it then use Google to source a replacement If your car was not Bluetooth equipped check the left boot are for a connector taped up in the loom in that area if it is there you may just need the parts. Then if you want it to be OEM use www.realoem.com to get the part numbers and source the equipment, it should be pretty much plug and play. The alternative is an after market Bluetooth kit Dave
-
Morning Matija Part of the Comfort access system then 😁 If you try www.realoem.com and put in the cars Vin (last 7 digits) it will bring up your model then reach the sections for the correct part and part number, once you have the part double click the part number and you will get a list of any alternatives and models they were used on Great find Dave

An elderly friend has a 1990's 96 i think 750i that has stood for a few years. Looking to sell. It needs work, fuel lines corroded. Will need cleaning up. This is a man who has always had it serviced etc. He doesn't know whats best to do sale wise or price so thought I'd come here and ask advice or if anyone serious may be interested?
-
Have a 2010 X3 but the Bluetooth option is not activated. Can it be done?
-
I found out, it's a suppression filter.. I had a problem that the key didn't unlock the car, and one wire got out of that part that feeds the module from the antenna for the key and the central locking
-
Morning Matija Welcome to the Forum It may be part of the CAS (Comfort Access System) but I have never pulled an X1 to bits so it is a guess, It may also be part of the Alarm system or the Fuel Pump Control unit What symptoms are you getting ? or have you found it and wonder what it does ? Dave

Hi Dave, Thanks for the reply and the welcome. Car has only done 33k miles with full service history - never any issues. The tuner in question will be DMS automotive, I believe they are established and have done various things with Carwow and Top Gear. Slightly on the higher end price wise but believe it would be stupid to cheap out on something like this. I also don't plan on being a boy racer, I just want the extra power for the odd over take and to prevent the delays from the automatic gearbox. Thanks again for the help! Seb
