So guys back again ive got a fault code on my bmw x5 e70 saying 4x4 abs ebv failure previous owner just went and changed the abs pump but never coded it so I sent the original off to ecu testing to see if it was faulty it came back today and they said the original pump had no faults at all but whilst I was waiting for it to come back the car has been doing stupid things like wipers staying on when car turned off passenger window not working to the point the motor burns out on it radio staying on when cars off im literally getting to the point i give up only owned it a month any help I would appreciate it
  4. I would like to change the coolant on my X3 but have never seen hose clips of the type fitted as it looks like complete ring. Any ideas on removal and tips on bleeding the system would be appreciated. Thanks

  6. Morning Frank Welcome to the Forum Rear Suspension not right ! Isn't much to help diagnose your problem so (1) is the system loosing pressure overnight ? (2) Is the compressor running (you should hear it under the back of the car) ? What dash warnings are you seeing ? Genuine air bags are around £80 each A replacement compressor £130 A Control unit (second user) £50 then there are 2 ride height sensors £25 a pair 2 fuses and a relay. So the system isn't complicated and can replaced completely for around £350 to £400, most common issues I have seen are leaks. If the system is loosing air the compressor ends up over running and either timing out (dash warning) or wearing out and while it will run it just can't produce enough pressure. My guess is, that if the previous owner changed the air bags the compressor is possibly on it's way out, easy to change a real plug and play job. Hope this helps Dave

  8. new to this so not sure if this is correct 'place ' i have a 2013 520 estate ,rear suspension not right !! seems airbags were replaced by previous owner ...mechanic says module has been disconnected at some stage previous ... he hasnt repaired one before but is willing to remove it/try fix it but of course cannot be sure ..am told they are quite expensive though if need be bought ...also see some people replace air one with conventional shocks/springs ...really lost on all of this as to best/easiest,,,, least expensive solution ... thanking ye in advance !!
  9. Any 2004 525i Touring owners out there? And if yes, did you ever have this fault? And where did you get a spare key cut? Cleared the code and it drives superb! 83,000 on the clock and it looks brand new inside. Any tips most grateful for.
  10. I bought my Z4 back in January and have been getting familiar with it ever since. I've always kept factory repair manuals for my vehicles, and I wanted to do the same for my 2005 Z4 E85 Roadster. I tried a cheap PDF repair CD, but it was a waste of money. I found a solid repair manual for my Z4 on my website, which I highly recommend: https://workshopmanuals.org/product/bmw-z4-e85-e86-2003-2006-workshop-repair-service-manual-download-pdf/
  11. Morning Richard Most of the control modules on the RR L322 are the same as BMW I bus cars so you should have no issues Good Luck Dave
  12. Thank you Dave, That's a great piece of info. Absolutely appreciate it. I work with Land Rovers/ Range Rovers hacking & cloning, unlocking etc, although the P38's & early L322's were mostly BMW. Looks like I'll try & replace the module like for like next.
  13. Hi Richard As long as it is the same Part Number you should be OK, worst case scenario it will need registering to the chassis. While BMW Dealers try and make a big deal of it it is simple and straight forward. Normally if your Snapon tool will recognise the Module it's just entering the Vin sometimes just the last 7 digits is enough. If not try BMW 1.4.0 you can get it for between £10 and £20 depending where you buy it will give you dealer level access to all BMW's up to 2006/2007 Dave
  14. Hi Dave, Thank you for replying. I've gone through all that. Tested the pre tensioner, sits on 0.06. Done the continuity's, fuses, everything is hanging loose in the car, fusebox etc. Can the SRS module be swapped over on this model year? & fault cleared or do they have to be cloned?
  15. Morning Richard Welcome to the Forum First is the replacement "new" or second hand worth testing it, next I would check continuity on the loom to the SRS module before changing the actual Module Don't know why but passenger seat occupancy was also an issue worth checking the sensor mat Hope this helps Dave
  16. Hi chaps. I'm pulling my hair out with this airbag problem i'm working on for my elderly neighbour. I'm Using Snapon Verus. it's a 2004 330D estate. Fault code 03, ignition Circuit ZK2 Belt tensioner Passenger. I've replaced the pre tensioner but the fault will not clear. Anyone with any sharable knowledge regarding this? I'm looking at a faulty SRS module. Any help would be so appreciated.
  17. Yes and on all four doors. 😢
  18. Bought this on my 40th, had 3 years. Got a salary sacrifice hybrid, and keeping the wife's Q3. Want it to go to someone who'll appreciate it. http://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202506263894450?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android-app
  19. Morning Stu If there is no rattling or just a little at cold start I would check the chain tensioner first, early X5 V8s were known for needing them changed every 20k or so. Normally looks like big bolt on the side of the timing cover. If I recall it's at the back of the engine on the side of the timing chain cover under the airbox. One of the boys on the shoot brought a cheap Mini because it had Chain rattle changed the tensioner and still driving it 2 years later My thought is it ran well for 100 miles and chains don't go without some early signs, worth a go before going for the full strip job Dave
  20. Morning Grant Welcome to the Forum Apart from removing the console and checking if it releases from behind I can offer no help Keep us updated Dave
  21. hi mate looks a bit more than a sponge has done that. is it on both sides??
  22. Morning David The 12g is a Browning Gold the 20g Beretta Silver Pidgeon both over and under with 30" barrels. Rifles are 308 Ruger and a Steyer Mannlicher in 243 calibre both bolt action with inter changeable scope. Plus I still have the first shotgun given to me 60+ years ago by Grandfather a 12g Greener made in San Francisco 1n 1889 great gun it just weighs almost as much as the other 4 together 🤣. Don't see many lever action rifles in the UK. The retrieving bit is simple I always have a team of 3 or 4 dogs with me (1 if stalking) When in Business I had many many nice cars mainly 2 wheel drive and totally useless off road. I kept an old 110 Land Rover for shooting. When I retired I decided to get a car that would do both jobs, Mercedes ML at that time I thought was ugly Porsche Cayenne looked half finished Range Rover were unreliable so I settled on a BMW X5 E53 4.4 which was replaced with an E53 4.6is (still have it) and the current is an E70 3.0d As an engineer I have a need to know how it works so always maintained my own cars, it is another hobby. If I sit down my wife worries I am bored so has a LIST !!😁 So I adopt the old "a moving target" adage and keep busy 😅 The cars her Subaru my BMW + the friends and family, training the dogs, Golf and shooting keep me out of trouble and away from the list Enjoy your Beemer Dave
  23. Anybody know process for replacing this socket? I see posts on removing the console piece but not on how to remove the socket from the fascia. I have a replacement socket and “light ring”. thx
  24. Hi John I’ve recently posted a similar problem with my 2015 F31 320d M Sport. Have you resolved the issue on your car?, if so could you please advise what the remedy was. Thanks in anticipation Rob
  25. So….. replaced the airbox and both inlet and outlet cam sensors… ran like an absolute dream for about 100 miles. Now the eml has come on and showing p0012 on a generic scanner. It’s running lumpy on tickover. oli is fine, no vacuum leaks as far as I can tell. possible timing chain? is it a big job on the mini?
  26. Hello group, I have a 2021 BMW X3 with only 22k miles. It looks like I may need to replace the brake pads soon. There are only a few millimeters left. I don't know why those pads are going so fast. On my previous BMW, the brakes were like new after 40k, and my driving style did not change. My only guess is that manufacturing quality went down. In any case, I have a few questions: What is the best replacement option for brake pads in my car? Semi-metallic or ceramic? Which brand? Do I need to replace rotors, or is refacing acceptable? If I take the car to the BMW dealership, they will stand for the OEM pads and new rotors. Thank you in advance, Alex
  27. As I mentioned earlier, here in East Texas, (my home is about 100 m east of the DFW area), hunting is very popular. Members of my family and some of my employees are avid hunters. I have always enjoyed shooting and firearm cleaning/maintenance. My father gave me my first gun, a 22 Marlin bolt action, when I was 8 years old. And looking at it from a hobby point of view, my attraction to any particular firearm is driven heavily by its style and looks. For example, you have a Browning. I think that the Browing Citori and Cynergy over/unders are one of the most beautiful firearms on the market. And the Marlin 336 lever action is one of my favorite looking ones. I have one in 30-30 caliber. I also have a Winchester 94 in 30-30, not that I need two lever action 30-30s, but I just like the look of both, so I want one of each in my gun safe. My father had a Browing semi auto as his main fowling piece. Are lever action rifles popular in your area? My father was more into duck hunting around ponds and marshes, as opposed to deer. But for some reason, although I enjoyed target practice and general shooting for recreation, I just never develop a liking for hunting. Maybe it was because my father, when I was quite young, used me as his retriever. He would shoot the bird, then it was my job to have my rubber waders on and go find it. But it is more likely because I am just too lazy to get out and hunt, then clean and prep.
  28. Would he happen to also know what I inadvertently pressed to make that arrowhead appear yesterday? It was never there before. And, how more importantly, how do I make it go away? I have never used Sport mode, neither has my husband. I have never used the paddles on the steering wheel either, at least not intentionally! Thanks again for your reply! ~Susan
