  1. As with many thinks it's often luck of the draw unfortunately. Just make sure you find a well cared for example with good history and you shouldn't go too far wrong!
  2. Sounds good to me. You often find specialists are usually mechanics who used to work for a dealer and then started their own business.
  3. Not had any experience of a wind deflector on a Z3 but my parents had one on their old 1 series convertible and they thought it made a real difference.
  4. Let me know if this solves it - fingers crossed!
  5. Hi Phil, welcome! The freelander is an OK car (assuming you avoid the early K series versions) but it's not a patch on the driving experience you'd get from an X3 or 3 series. Also, an equivalent X3 looks a lot more modern in my opinion than the freelander of that era.
  6. Hi Anthony, welcome! The X5 is a nice car, particularly with the 4.6 - nice to see you going for the "proper one" and not just the run of the mill diesel
  7. What's the recommended method in the hand book? I'm sure I've seen people in the past having to take the front wheel off and go through the wheel arch liner.
  8. Well, yes you're right but they're certainly not the only manufacturer that's like that
  9. Think it's a common issue on the Z3. Usually seems to be to do with air in the system. Get the coolant flushed and bled properly and see if that fixes it.
  10. Yeah that's right take your time and the right car will come up. Don't be afraid to travel either for the right car. A mate of mine wanted a 330ci clubsport in Estoril blue and ended up flying up to Glasgow and driving one back to Dorset, just so he got the right car. He's well pleased with it though and it's absolutely mint. Much better than anything he could find nearby. Nice day out too!
  11. Haha, you're buying another one because you love the driving experience right?
  12. Can you copy and paste the link to the site instead of that file?
  13. Aaahhh that's a shame Would have been a bargain but I'm sure you'll find something else around the corner perhaps even something better!
  14. Good point, perhaps better to find one that's 100% right in the first place?
  15. Hi Dave, Despite the fact I currently drive a BMW, I'm still actually quite a fan of Lexus too - my brother has an IS300h and he loves it, says it's the best car he's ever owned. He gets around mid 40's mpg and the tax is very low (£20 I think?). He has an F Sport version which is probably the nicest looking and has some cool features but he also considered a premier as it has all the gadgets. I think Lexus often do 24 hour test drives so you could try living with one for a bit too. Of course, the BMW is also a nice car and a great driver's car, though I'm not personally a diesel fan I'd probably be looking for a 6 cylinder petrol version.
  16. I've also heard of this problem before and it needed bleeding electronically at the garage unfortunately.
  17. So all you changed was the stock head unit for an Alpine one and a massive improvement in sound quality? No other amps/subs etc?
  18. Fair enough. Still good cars. Did you find out what's happening? Are you about to be the proud owner of a 525d?
  19. Bit of a difference then! I wish my tax was that low It's all going to change soon though for the new cars. Have you taken a look at the new tax system that was announced?
  20. Good news Paul, let us know what how you get on and what the fault is. I always like to find out if my diagnosis is correct
  21. Hi Kris, did you manage to go and take a look at the car in question?
  22. Think we've already spoken but hello! That's quite a difference in tax - how much is the tax on each car? Didn't realise the Celica polluted so much
  23. Does sound like a bargain to get it at trade in value. If it's a car you're interested in anyway then probably worth taking him up on that! What's he swapping it for?
