  1. Hi Ash

I would suggest looking for full service history from a reputable repairer or dealer...if not, then you can't tell whether it's had software updates, premium parts/oils, etc.

Otherwise, the higher mileage isn't a problem if it's the right sort of mileage e.g. motorway miles.

    Good luck with your search

    Cheers   Trevor

  2. Hi David

I would imagine the best way is to have a look for the blanking plugs in the inlet manifold...you may need to remove it to check this is the case and if not, then order some from ebay (plenty on there for sale) and fit them as soon as possible.

Let us know how you get on with it

  3. Hi David...welcome to the Forum

I have had a quick look and there doesn't appear to be the usual replacement cases and button covers for rebuilding your old one.

There are a few listed in the link (below) but you would need to swap the internals and the key blade to use it without having to programme it and get the blade cut if just using the one key.

Also, common fault on the X3 engine is for the inlet manifold valves to drop into the engine so the mod is to remove them and fit blanking plugs...may already have been done.

  4. Hi Stephen....welcome to the Forum!

I'm not 100% sure but I think the problem may be with the phone not being set up to play the Music although you can make calls which means the device is being recognised...got the same problem on my Honda as well. May be worth fiddling with the phone first?

  5. Hi James,

I would take the car back to where the pads were changed and get them to check the system to make sure nothing is wrong.

Alternatively, they may just need to reset the system to know it had new brake system components...but I would still take it back for them to sort out..at no extra charge!

  6. Hi Philip...welcome to the Forum

I know what you mean about the mpg claims, I drive a Honda CRV as a daily smoker and I have never managed to get near the claimed figures but the way I see it is if I am happy with what I'm getting and its more than I get from my Z3, I can live with that!

Look forward to reading your posts in the future

    Cheers,  Trevor

  7. Hi Stuart....welcome to the forum!

Not sure apart from BMW themselves (sometimes not too bad price wise for certain parts) or look in Germany as loads of BMW suppliers there.

  8. Hi Richard...welcome to the Forum!

I don't believe the problem is with the AFM as the sensors on the Beemers are generally quite reliable.

The 1.9 is not too potent. I've got a 2.0 litre Z3 and that's pretty gutless so I'm in the process of upgrading components.

My thoughts to go forward for better acceleration are a remap which will definitely improve things and the exhaust system is standard and therefore loaded with lots of factory restrictions. After that, you could look at a cold air intake system to improve things.

Let us know how you proceed with any mods or upgrades

  9. Hi Richard...welcome to the Forum!

I'm not sure but if you run a multimeter around the car, I'm sure there must be something local to where you want to locate the lamps.

  10. Hi Andrew...welcome to the Forum!

I'm personally not sure which springs to go for but I would think the best thing is to ask the individual manufacturers as to their recommendations and see what they say but if you measure the gap between the bottom of the wing and top of the tyre and then you'll know how much drop you can get away with for a start.

Let us know how you get on with it.

    Regards   Trevor
