  1. Morning Todd Welcome to the Forum First simple thing is actually change the fuses on my 4.6is the 30a compressor fuse was blown changed it for a (Halfords) 30a no go ? checked everything several times could find no fault swapped it with another 30a fuse everything worked still haven't figured out why? If the simple doesn't work then it is continuity testing on the 12v feed to find out why a look at a wiring diagram would help if you have access to one Good Luck Dave
  2. Afternoon Frankolinno Welcome to the Forum I would start at the Boot/Trunk look above the number plate for a Key hole, you should have a key blade as part of the Fob Find the Key hole open the Boot/Trunk and you have access to the Battery. If charging the battery remove it from the car to charge it. There should also be an emergency key hole on the underside of the drivers door Good Luck Dave
  3. Morning Alexander Welcome to the Forum Paul used Liquid Moly additive I beleive, do remember that if the seals are hardening through age this will work if the seals have gone it can't do much Dave
  4. Morning Ben Welcome to the Forum Never actually seen this but from what I read it is normally the Halo LED's failing and needing replacement Dave
  5. Morning Mike Welcome to the Forum Sadly we do live in times where extra protection is needed The good old Stop Lock is an excellent visual deterent. Whether the investment in a ghost immobiliser as well is worth the money no one can say untill it is needed. Personally the Stop Lock would be my choice (I use one when we are away from home) Dave
  6. Morning Frank Welcome to the Forum Are you thinking of after market or BMW ? Also raises the question why ? If BMW then as long as it has the same functions and air bag connections I would think you could find one from other models. Try a search on www.realoem.com to see if there are any cross refference parts Dave
  7. Morning John You do know your German car is built in South Carolina 😅 If nothing is loose in the Boot then I would still be looking for Loose Heat Shields or worn Suspension parts (Drop Link or Anti Roll Bar Bushes) Dave
  8. Hi John Welcome to the Forum What are the roads like before you get on the Freeway? Could be a loose Heat shield, or suspension bush gone Dave
  9. Hi Harry Welcome to the Forum Try looking at www.fusecheck.com/bmw/bmw-x1-f48-2016-2022-fuse-diagram That should give you what you need Dave
  10. Greydog replied to Hay's topic in BMW X5 Series Forum
Morning Hay Welcome to the Forum Is it nagging you because the sibscription has expired ? Or possibly just a flat back up battery. A Diagnostic scan would confirm it Dave
  11. Greydog replied to Rad's topic in BMW 1 Series Forum
Morning Radford Welcome to the Forum A diagnostic session is needed plus wiring checked for continuity to identify just what the issue is Dave
  12. Hi Ian Welcome to the Forum I think I would be writing to the Service Director with a copy to BMW Customer Services UK The EGR Cooler should have had nothing to do with the Speedo or your Bluetooth they have a Duty of Care while your car is in their workshop. As the Digital Speedo and Bluetooth were operating when it went in they should be when it came out The only thing I can think is they disconected some thing that didn't need disconnecting which is a worry as it would indicate a level of misunderstanding or even incompetence Dave
  13. Hi Paul I would check the Cabin Filters mine on the E70 were damp and as a result smelly. Air Filter should be fine with a hoover as the miles are so low My Milage is higher than yours between 4 to 6k so I oil and filter change annually Dave
  14. Hi Derek Check history very carefully some of the earlier 2.0d suffered timing chain issues and I believe BMW recommended timing chain replacement but cant recall the mileage (old Blokes brain fade) but if it's 100k then it could be costly as I believe it's engine out. Google may help more The 5 series are great cars by the way Dave
  15. Hi Dave Have you tried Black Circles they have always been helpfull, them and my Local Tyre Specialist Dave
  16. Morning Annamaria Welcome to the Forum As with any purchase of a Second hand car it falls on you to make all the checks you can if your not able/capable then ask someone who is to check for you. There may be a charge from people like the AA/RAC or similar but at least you will feel confident in your decision. Just asking on a Forum could get conflicting advice as no one but you has actually seen the car? Well I assume you have have had hands on it Good Hunting Dave
  17. Maybe the i3/i8 section or maybe double post there and For Sale section Dave
  18. Afternoon Stephen Welcome to the Forum Most Relays are with the Fuse box but thats on the passenger side behind the Glove Box It could be the consumer relay that I think is behind the Instrument cluster Could it be something in the Ventilation system a flap control possibly Not really much help but difficult to diagnose without hearing just where its coming from Dave
  19. Hi Glyn Early 2000's there were quite a few X5's that had issues with the Bluetooth Mike it is an easy swap (really plug and play) either the Bluetooth call couldn't be heard or answered or the caller couldn't hear you I would pop the cover off and have a look (the Mike is normally clipped into the drivers side above a grill replacement was about £15 from memory got mine from the well known Auction site 😁 Before parting with any "Hard Earned" you could try unplugging it first to see if it stops the noise. Another thought is the sun roof if you have one the motor is at the leading edge same thinking applies plull the plug see if it stops the noise Dave
  20. Morning Glyn Welcome to the Forum What kind of Buzz ? Vibration ? or Electrical ? The overhead console contains the Microphone for your Bluetooth connection feedback on the microphone could give a buzz or just loose wiring or clips behind the console could allow vibration Good Luck with the hunt Dave
  21. Morning Trevor Welcome to the Forum I have only ever heard of this once before and not with BMW but with a Mercedes S class the owner was on the M6 3rd lane morning traffic and the car just braked to a stand still (Brown Trouser Moment). He turned off restarted and all seemed normal continued his trip to work. He reported it to Mercedes who said bring it in checked it over and found no fault? A month later he had a reoccurrance the only common denominator was Active Cruise Control which he was using on both occasions Ask your Dealer to check the Active Cruise Control sensors as you should still be covered by Warranty Good Luck Dave
  22. Morning Kieran Welcome to the Forum Try www.realoem.com it is a BMW online parts list good up to 2019 when BMW decided to make it subscription Put the last 7 digits of your Vin into the search box it will bring up your model, then search the Front Axel section when you have the part numbers double click them and you will get a list of alternates the just Google and look for what you need Good Luck Dave
  23. Morning Billy Welcome to the Forum When upgrading performance I have always increased the frequency of Oil Filter changes just to make sure everything stays in tip top condition As long as your not driving it at the max every second then I think you should enjoy your Beemer Dave
  24. Morning Jim Welcome to the Forum Try Disconecting the Battery for 20/30mins (Dealer Trick) to see if it resets then. If not you could have a faulty wheel sensor a Diagnostic check will tell you Dave
  25. You may have to do some overtime with the scratch to take care of and a fine to pay 🤣 Enjoy the peace
