  1. Hi Mark....welcome to the Forum Bizarrely enough, I also have the same car (2000, 2.0ltr with 100k miles) in Silver. It is off the road at the moment as was written off as a CAT C but have since replaced the damaged parts and you would not know the difference. However, I also have the same dilemma as you....do I spend money on a new roof and some paintwork or do I jump to a Z4? Have thought long and hard and have decided to keep the Z3 as it owes me nothing now and it is an iconic modern classic. In summary, mine will never be worth a huge amount in the future because of the mileage and also being CAT C....but as I already own it and I really enjoy it then I will stick with it and spend some money on sorting out the issues. Hope this will convince you to keep it and also maybe worth test driving a Z4 for a period to see if you really think it is any better than the Z3 and make a decision then. Let us know how it goes Cheers, Trevor
  2. Hi Nick I would be tempted to agree with the suggestion of a larger tyre profile as it is the first point of shock absorbance and the higher the profile the smoother the ride. Maybe best to keep the 19" rims, fit spacers and go higher profile (e.g. 45 or 50 profile) and not bother with runflat feature. Let us know how you get on with it all Cheers, Trevor
  3. Hi Dan Sounds to me like its the tyre compound (e.g. hard compound) which is transmitting road noise through to the car. A way of determining this is if you travel the same bit of road each day that enhances the noise then it disappears on other surfaces then maybe this is the case? Otherwise, if there is undue noise and clunking when pulling away then I would also check out the engine mountings as these could also transmit a rumbling noise through to the cabin. Let us know how it all transpires as it would be nice to know the outcome Cheers, Trevor
