Thankyou for that. will have a potter around with the software and see if i can re programme. as for the seat, glad you know what i mean. the seats are so well padded any force you use just gets absorbed.

Hello all Took rear seat cushion out to clean under, got the thing back in but no way can i force it down to engage on the locating humps, the bottom of the seat has a recess at the front each side to lock onto the metal hump, no way, ive sat, 17 stone on it with my good self, thumped it, knelt on it hammered it with fists, no way will it locate , am i doing something wrong. Q2 on the check programme, it says the seat belt warning have been disconnected, i presume the last owner didnt want reminding to belt up, i do as i forget.does anyone know where the connector is, ive been under the seats in out around just cannot see anything unplugged. Hi Got it sorted i think when i put new battery in somehow the bulb blew, unless it was pure coincidence., they are standard H6 halogen bulbs in the holder. i read about these led angel , so i got the laptop out and put the light module up to enable daylight running eu, dont know what is supposed to happen but i saw no difference, nothing was on when the light switch was off, when i turn to sidelight postion its just as it was before so i uninstalled the upgrade. The Aux heater i enabled, this came to life but runs for a few mins and stops, the readout says "flame out " dont know on that one. faulty glow plug ?

during my poking rhough i found how to enable aux heat and it burst into life but didnt run long only 5 minutes i presume it shut off as engine was warm already. does that sound right. thanks.

had a good look. i have no tv or bluetooth. only dvd and cd in cubby hole. i have radio with the 4 conn blocks. then small black with 3 conns i presume antenna boost. next to it is empty but with a large rectangular conn block dangling. but i know park sensors work fine , next to batt on right is abs. thats it in the boot . did lock to lock and cleard 4x4 , very odd sidelight angel eye worked fine but today before batt swop i removed rhe n/s holder just to have a look. i put back and then change battery. then all the fun started . all singing and dancing dash. i have fault it says both seatbelt warning are unplugged. where do i find these. i looked around buckle and under sea but saw no unplugged things. i presume last owner didnt want telling to belt up.

Hi no module for tv or bluetooth. under the L shape was just 3 modules, a ABS to the right of the battery, then in front was the say nav with cable to it, there was then another box next to it with 3 multiplugs i didnt take that out as a bracket was caught so did not see what that was. BUT , i changed the battery as it had a date on of 9 years old, i got a bosch 019 fitted and here is what happened. The dash warning control check thing sprang into life, with pings and messages, never saw them when i got car, but the odd thing and i am now stumped. since battery swop i have no passenger front sidelights. angel lights instead on that side i have a orange solid indicator. what on earth is going on. all this since i put new battery in.

Hi i just got our X5 an Ocotber 04 made one, this is a sport and it has the pull out pads in front of seat, the handbook says the other seat is called a comfort seat , this is identified by having adjustable lumbar and shoulder support where the sports seats dont. Thats my take on what the handbook says.

just been looking, i have no tv module or bluetooth in the cubby hole. just the dvd for the sat nav and the cd changer no cables either with multi plugs on to even plug in if i bought one. so i wonder why i thought these were maybe standard fit looking at everyone elses , mayby not. looks like the owner spent the cash on the panomaric roof,

Hi got my scanner reader v1.4.0 set up and learning to use it. i thought i would enable the aux heating rather than vent. after finding how to do this, i thought i would also try enable eu daylight running. i ticked th ebox and then "write" it said done ok. i dont know when these are supposed to come on, is it when i run in daylight only or do i need a lighswitch position on |? as i cant seem to see them on. anyway the heater, i found the module but the coding thing was different to the light module. there was no way to enter the settings to change it from vent to aux as someone on here had done . any help gratefully accepted. then also on screen there was a red box where it said extra heater, i cleared this and it stayed off but still cannot find how to change the thing over to heat. i presume im in the right module am i for the aux heater, there was another one , sorry i forgot name, that was same, i could open the coding , then on screen the recode was greyed out only write code and read code was there to be opened.

got the software loaded on the old laptop. plugged in and up comes screen i clicked everything and found all the seperate modules. i was trying to enable the aux heat as a member had done. i simply cannot find how to enable it. i wen tonline and saw some screen shots of the software some were all items with a check box and a "write" i suppose that you select which you want and write. but i can find the a page with check boxes on. on the actual module ther eis options like reprogramme, read,,write, code, but all i get is empty boxes. how on earth do you find how to use this. i couldnt even find how to turn off the service lights. on subject of other, the tv i cant find, as it went through scanning, it said cant find video module or telephone module.

Hi i think i posted the same question in the forum, i cant see the tv to select on my main screen nothing at all. just, computer, sat nav. code and aux vent , why have i no tv on there. not a big problem but nice to have,. also the panorama sunroof wouldnt shut, kept poppin up and down.got worried till i found its very common with a You tube easy fix, just tapping some sliders on th rear section that seemed jammed up at the back, what though is the reason they stick, is there some lube required or something. lots of fixes but no explanation of why it happens Thanks

Hi On my 3.0d Ootober 04 made i was hoping to find the tv as the handbook says it has a digital tv fitted, on the selection screens though there is no TV to select, i just have computer, auto vent sat nav and code, no mention of TV was it just certain models then that had the tv tuner , is there any way to add it on or could i buy from Ebay a used unit , if so would that be a straight swop. Thanks

Thanks for that, things ive found so far, i thought all the cars had the Tv on the unit but mine doesnt seem to have it on screen to select , is there a way to buy a plug in module to get tv on it , or is it the full head unit that has it built in. That i think would be needless cost for the odd time it would be used or does the sofeware enable it Thanks.

Sadly we live in area where many bikers come for a fun ride on Sundays in summer on the long roads and nearly every week there's a crash or two normally with car drivers who never see them, so that scares the good lady, got to keep em happy i suppose.

Hello all i have just bought my first X5, had BMW many years ago when younger, a 325i from 1990 and a 528i from 1984 both flying machines of the day with manual gearboxes, many years gone past now, anyway just px the v6 people carrier from Ford for a bit of luxury, i deserve it at 55, i just cashed a little pension pot i had, gave some to kids. some to wife, was gonna buy a big motorbike but wife says NO. so i got this instead. Lovely. Have posted my 1st question as well. trying to find out the full spec of the car from realoem but got stuck already !

Hello As a new boy i have found the thread on where to find the spec by using the www.realoem.com when i put my vin in it brings up the car year model etc but nowhere do i see where it lists the spec of my car, the only link is underneath where it then takes me to a page where you click on various sections but these are common to all pages not my particular car Am i doing something wrong ?
