  1. Hi, I have now brought and driven my first BMW. Its an older 330 ci convertible, but i love it. Within 3 days of owning it, i have decided that i am now a convert to German motoring. Nice to be part of the club. Daren

Hi Claire, due to my work commitments finding time to attend meets would be something I'd find difficult to guarantee, that's not to say I wouldn't attend if things dovetail together. As Jeffthro says, meets at somewhere people would want to go too would possibly get a better attendance. I often wondered if speaking to the Museum of Welsh Life, St Fagons would be worth while. Get them to agree a date and advertise not only a BMW Owners Club meeting but also the opportunity to visit the Museum. I not only own a M3 but also a XJS Coupe, the Jaguar Enthusiasts Club hold a 'Jaguars at the Castle' event at Warwick Castle towards the end of the tourist season. Costs about £15 per car, regardless of number of occupants, gives you entrance to the Castle and also to a great big field of Jags. Maybe BM's at the Museum could catch on in the same way! Just my thoughts ;-)

Morning mate I had the same thing 3 weeks ago, I have a post in the M power lounge, the long and short of my problem was the car sounded like it was pinking around 2300rpm and it through up the management light, did a diagnostic and it showed up a constant misfire on cylinder 6, swapped around coil packs and no change, checked the plug on said cylinder and it was new, did a compression test on all 6 cylinders and cylinder 6 had none, got the head off and the head gasket was gone between 5 and 6, the job took 14 hours, the gasket set and bolts were £168 inc VAT from BMW but the problem was the tooling for the timing a good specialist may have it, if not then you can buy it at around £600 plus VAT, hope am wrong and your problem is a simple one but after a lot of research its a common problem, they are getting old. Regards Stephen

The car has been found and recovered, no damage but will be having a full forensic by the police and then sent to BMW to be fully checked etc. It was tracked by BMW in Germany - Wonders of technology.
