I'm a bit to young to really remember her, and to be honest I'm not very clued up on politics.

But was she so much of a bad leader to deserve all the stick she is getting over on facebook?

Educate me guys.

Personally, I would do some research on the Internet and make up your own mind.

I was very young, but I do remember her, and some of the decisions that she made.

Problem being the media being what it is, censorship, and being right wing, means you don't really get a proper flavour.

However; significant events include;

-Taking us to war with Argentina. Promptly kicking them out of the Falklands in a couple of weeks (This was early on in power, and was a decisive "Don't mess with me attitude"

-Took on the unions (Very powerful) and won.

-Introduced PACE (police and criminal evidence act) in 1984, completely changed the police powers. Whom are still governed by this today. Another very smart move.

-Survived an assassination attempt in '86 I think it was, when the IRA tried to blow her up at the grand hotel in Brighton.

As stated, I was a little to young to actually form a true political opinion, however I know she had some very key decisions to make. Right or wrong, she will always be remembered.

Im from Scotland, so if I start on about her I will most probably get banned. Suffice to say I hated the women and every thing about her. Remember, according to her, Nelson Mandela was a terrorist and General Pinochet was a thoroughly nice man. Not forgetting the order to attack the Belgrano as it was leaving the territorial waters, the Poll Tax and the Hillsborough cover up. Oh nearly forgot about the Khmer Rouge, ethnic cleansing.

HI all Well ill be 60 in Aug and can remember most of what went on, it did not matter that it was Maggie, or Fred Blogs, some thing had to be done, we all know the stories about 5 council workers looking down a hole while one was digging, or getting a life job on the dust carts, it could "nt go on all PM s do some things wrong, in your eyes, and a stroke of genius for others. As know she took power after a disastrous time under labour, and to do what is right was painfull !!! I am a Carpenter she rected the building trade, and to get a job most of us had to go self employed, and they played us of against each other, So im no fan, but looking at the bigger picture as I said to start with some one had too, (THATS TO SAY ALL THE BOYS CLUBS AND UNIONS ECT,) Crap I could go on all night sorry! Im disappointed that some people are so venomous about her more than some of our latest killers child molesters know what I mean.....

The union bosses needed their wings clipped, because they got too big and greedy and their only way to solve any problems was to call a strike. That was wrong. But the unions were there to protect workers, she crushed them instead of regulating them. Now workers have no rights, if you don't like it, ##### off, we'll get someone who will. She got coal from Russia and Poland because it was cheaper, left the British mines to close and flood. They are too far gone and not cost effective to re-open and what do Russia and Poland do? Put the price up and hold us to ransom because they know we need it to fuel our power stations. If you were rich in the 80s she made you richer, but if you were working class you were !Removed!. Sorry about the language. Rant over.

There was a very interesting divide that was crated. No doubt.

Did those decisions need to be made? Who knows.

I so know however that the Belgrano even though it was travelling away from the Falklamds, was heading direct at a fleet of British subs.

The fact if of the matter is this; I am not informed enough to cast an opinion, so I'm going to sit on the fence.

However she was long serving and re-elected; did she need to make waves; yep I would think so. Are we still felling the effect of some of those decisions, defiantly.

What would we give to have someone with a backbone now? Everything.

Just my view.

I will add however, that none of those decisions have directly affected my way of life (that I have noticed! And I wouldn't know any difference!)

Hence why I'm sitting on the fence a touch.

I have no doubt that there was/is a level if hatred.

But celebrating a death as left wingers have been? I think it's a disrespectful to be perfectly honest for someone who was doing a job rather than for any personal gain.

No MP is in it for the love of the job, they may claim they are, and start with good intentions but it never lasts. John Prescot is a good example started off as a good socialist, ended up an arsehole. So personal gain is their only reason. Im just showing her the same respect that she showed working class people in the 80s

Hi all again! WE could go on all night about the good and damned right destruction of some community and some industries To just inform any body whose interested that for every 1 ton of coal or steel and grain that our miners ect produced the government of the day paid a subsidy to these producers whose the government well surprise surprise its US the good old tax payer. It is suggested that she was elected because of success in the Falklands, its possible, she was a victim of the IRA and lost close friends to them A N , She also fought the money grabbing eurocrats in the common market with great success.Just to finish have you ever worked for a woman, well ill tell you they are hell, they want what they want and have the power and clout to get it. I have found this to my cost many times, Dont worry its all history now.....
