316Ti Compact, Sub-Frame Removal. Do I Need To Support Engine?

Hi there, new to the forum and new to owning my first BMW..Recently bought a 316 compact 2004.

On arrival at home I realised there was an oil leak coming from the sensor on the underside of the sump, i bought the o ring, replaced it, and stupidly over tightened one of the nuts and snapped the bolt. So now ive started removing the the sub frame that runs under the sump so i can remove the sump, taken the two bolts and one nut of one side and the engine has dropped about an inch. Question is, can i remove this frame completely leaving it hold on other mounts, or do I need to get a tool to support the engine.

Any advice would be great.

Thanks,Lee
