Hi, I am new to X5 ownership but have owned all sorts of series of BMW's in the past. I have just brought a 2004 3.0d for the Mrs, i am just wondering what options are available, either set by a dealer or that i can do myself, i.e. Auto locking etc.

There are two ways of 'unlocking' various options on the E53 .

One is by Indy's with an Autologic . I had auto-lock on doors function enabled , and also when the

vehicle is locked , the indicators now flash and it beeps , once on lock , twice on un-lock .

There are a lot of other features , but it depends on the spec. of your car , and I'm not familiar with

all of them , sry . Jason at BW did mine , he's always got time to help if you call him 07831 103030 .

The other way is using and Intravee , which I'm looking to buy . This opens up some other things like

auto-folding door mirrors , PDC display on OBC , soft indicator which has a set amount of flashes .
