Right had the 2004 x5 diesel for 1 week so far parking sensors are faulty, blower faulty, front passenger speaker faulty and had to get a new battery hope this isn't a sign of things to come.

Hi And welcome to the club

Hope you manage to fix your issues. Always feel free to pop on if you have any issues.

Welcome to X5 ownership , they're great . Had my '05 facelift 2 1/2 years and love it .

The PDC sensors common problem , might just be some dirt , but they're not difficult

to look at of overly expensive to replace .

Front passenger speaker cud be a worn cable , or dry joint .

Batteries generally last about 5 years , I had to replace mine last X-mas .

Faulty blower is possible the 'hedgehog' , Final Stage Resisitor , common prob on

several models of BMW !! About £40 .

Check this link for more info ; http://www.motormec.co.uk/aircon.pdf

Hope that's useful .

Cheers , Chris

Hi, I bought an 02 last week and have done about 1000miles already, I love it. No problems so far touch wood, maybe because I haven't found out what half the buttons do yet!!

I have an invoice in the history file for a "Superchip" fitted in 2008 by Formula 1, Albert Street, Newcastle at a cost of £499. The phone number is 0191 2610383. I dont know what a standard 3.0d feels like but this thing flies. Much quicker than BMW official specs and approx 30mpg mixed driving so far (1000miles) including lots of overtaking, hills and "seeing what it will do!!"

hope this helps,

cheers crofter
