Problem With My X5 Radio

Hi folks, I have recently collected my first X5 after years of watching on enviously. I now have a relatively low mileage 53 plate 3.0 petrol sport which drives like a dream. I couldn't have been happier. Five days on, then, for no apparent reason, the radio and CD function just disappeared from the computer screen, even though the SatNav works fine. I noticed that the small led light near to the left side knob is no longer illuminated but clearly there is still power to the unit. Additionally the 'voice' on the Sat Nav no longer talks to me albeit the directions and mapping are fine. Has this happened to anybody else? Is this a common fault? Can anybody help? As I have just about spent every penny on the car, if its going to be an expensive fix can you please break it to me gently !

Thanks

Alan

Hi Alan i to had the same problem, and found out that it was a dodgy connection,if you open your boot, and in the rh cubby hole, you will see a fuse board, the radio fuse is a 30amp green fuse, just take it out ,make sure its not blown ,put it back in give it a wiggle, while the ignition is on and you should see the wee square orange light come back on.
