Hi All,

Looking at a new car for the Mrs with a view to purchase next Tuesday. 325i Sport Convertible. I've got an E90 and this is a 2005 E46. Any common faults / problems to look for in an E46? I'm assuming all E46 convertible have electric roof??? I'm buying from a main dealer so don't have mechanical worries as such but any tips greatfully received.

Everything is electronic,and it all tends to work! Very few faults recorded and the engine sounds fantastic with the roof down.

do main dealers sell cars that old? Try the auctions,bca usually offload the BM dealers partexs. If its got a history and reasonable miles,wont be much wrong with it,so you cant lose really.

Yep if its a proper car with excellent miles and history the dealers are happy to have them on sale

Thanks for your replies. Its a 2005 with sub 40K and is like new so hopefully no worries and has 12 month warranty. Just never had a soft top before so wanted any feedback positive or negative!
