hi guys,my x5 3.0d sport 2002 year, has a wee oil leak somewhere and its only noticeable when parked on my drive etc,

ive been underneath it and took the plastic engine cover off,but i cant see where its coming from, just that there is a drop of oil landing in the engine undertray and then on my drive, ive checked the top end of the engine and cant see anything? any ideas anyone ,is this ever happened to you guys

its nice when they dont leak oil, however do remember the car is 10 years old!, a oil leak could be coming from anywhere as oil finds the lowest point.

is it engine oil or PAS/transmisson fluid

hi,thanks for your reply,it definatly looks like engine oil,i think its dripping down into the engine cover, then onto the drive,i keep checking the dip stick and its always bang on,i think il have to get it up on a ramp and take the metal covers off and have a look, hopefully fingers crossed it will be a hose or something and nothing serious
