Hi Guys, HELP my 53 plate 320cd was started to whoosh when you change gear mainly at slow speed to much noise when middle range, sounds like coming from front end.

Mate said it sound like air leak when the turbo has no work to do but he is a plumber. Split hose, blocked filter, turbo, (kids making the whoosh noise).

Any ideas or any one had the same problem? Thanks Tony.

    Well every BMW ive had and ive had a couple, have at some point had to have the thrust barring changed on the gear box.... that makes that sort ov noise as well Bmw do say they will last a while but perhaps its worth having it checked..

    You would probably "feel" a failing thrust -bearing thru the clutch pedal.
