How low can you take an E46 saloon with 18/40/225 front and rear?

With no mods other than coil overs.

I have a set of coil overs on the way, max out at -100mm, will i bet able to max out without any problems? (I don't think so)

Coil overs in my opinion are a bad idea... My mate had them on his and it was terrible, uncomfortable ride and couldn't get up a drop curb lol..

I bought a set off lowering springs from demon tweaks for £150 quid which lowered it 40mm all round which is just about right.. It stiffend it up in the corners perfectly but still allowed me to make it over some(not many) speed bumps...

I think it looks cool as well..

If you use to coil overs i wouldnt go anymore then 40 - 50 mm all round.. but i do think 50 would be pushing it

Hers a pic of mine at 40mm

You can go further but you'd have to replace or cut down the rubber stops ! And it'll be like driving a breeze-block !

Im not fussed about the harsh ride, I have already gone -40mm with lowering springs but this is just not enough.

what is the standard travel till you hot the bump stop on the E46?

It's "around" 6in (15cm) standard, tank fuel and other extras affect this (I don't have spec on this PC), but you will have to reset the camber and toe-in as you may already know !

don't forget to factor in those extra trips to the dentist to have your fillings replaced. Not to mention blood on the seat when your piles burst.

4 wheel geometry is a must !! some of the best money I spent was doin that !!

Well got the rear -70mm and the front around -70mm

Both are on the very limit, the front rubs under very heavy cornering.

I will be able to drop both around another 15mm if i start messing with cambers, may be a job for the summer.

Lookin good dude :) I dropped mine another 10mm at the front but cant go any lower without either adding camber or smaller width tyres with a stretch etc and tbh that will just end up killing my tyres and seeing as I paid good money for 4 wheel geometry to be done to get everything running straight and true and my current tyres have lasted 2 years with no uneven wearing I dont think Im going to bother going any lower (altho it is permanantly on my mind to do it) :)

I want the front as low as the rear, but a lot of work is involved...stretch tyres, camber etc.

Im saving for an M3 now so the 320 project is on stop.

Your £20 will come in handy then Gav... No bugger will win it :P :D
