Hi all, finally bought a BMW after 30 odd years of owning Fords and Vauxhalls. I must say that i'm very impressed with the car.

My first question (and there will be a few more) is, what type and grade of engine oil should I use?

First number is lowest operational temp, go with the average weather for your area !

Many thanks guys. Is there a low oil level warning light or do I check the old fashioned way?

Welcome Kevin, There should be an oil warning light, but always best to check the old fashioned way, enjoy the forum. :D
