2012 X3 Xdrive 35I & Standard Batteryminder Trickle Charger

Featured Replies

Hello, hooked up known functional, have three others installed, BatteryMinder trickle chargers/tender to the negative stud and positive cable under the hood. Unit shows correct polarity as well as charging. Unit never goes int desulfaction mode. When disconnected for a normal day of driving, the display in the instrument cluster shows an initial message, something like "excessive battery discharge". Delaer and BatteryMinder have no clue. Tried different BatteryMinder to verify and have the same results. I am planning to try direct connection to the battery to see if this cable coming from the battery has some type of monitoring that can not be bypassed. Any Thoughts?

Only thought is try a new battery mate

As Gav says...

Why do you need to charge the battery? It is losing ampage...?

Have you tested for a constant drain?

Is the battery a "Life-timer", or can it be rescued by replacing the sulphuric acid/electrolyte combo?

Just some ideas dude...
