Minding my own business driving home from work and stop at traffic lights so put the gearbox in N. Lights turn green so put it into D and nothing, no gears at all! Ignition off and back on again and manage to get the car moving after it went into Trans, Fail Mode,

Back to the garage yet again with it tomorrow, predicitions please? new transmission or faulty sensor because its either nothing or full blown failure with these cars!

Ouch! Mate... Initial thoughts are Tranny fluid or Gearbox Module/sensor.. Gotta be fixable without a new unit !!!

Could be something as simple as a re-programme

its not all doom and gloom i had a few issues with my gear box when i first got it all sorted now prob just a sensor

i also bought a jag xj8 few years back for peanuts cos the fella thought gear box was no good turned out to be a £30 fix

let them have a look before getting to worried !!

Update: Garage say its either oil and strainer required which they are doing tomorrow, failing that new transmission possibly!

I would get a second opinion from small independent garage

UPDATE: Car back from garage, oil and strainer change seems to have done the job! I now have a gears again. Yes I like the car again but I'm going to need lots of reliability from her before I can say I love it again. She let me down lol!
