Hi all. I have a 1998 523i SE Auto, and I am looking to do an oil change. She's done a 136k miles. What engine oil make and grade would you recommend?

    BMW Official oil brand is Castrol, I prefer Mobil1 but we have a Club Supporter (Opie Oils) that can maybe match both these brands...

    Thanks for that. What about the grades? do you recommend 5w 40, or 10w 40, maybe even 5w 30? and I assume fully synthetic, rather than semi?

    go fully synthetic is my personal opinion as that is what i use, castrols site have a database where all you need to do is type in your registration....
