It has done 128k and it last service at 117k and no lights on the dash yet.

Do you think a service will fix this?

Are you sure that it is OIL, or could it be soot, which just means she's running too rich ?

Its def oil as it drips when i took the plus out.

Ok, IF it is oil then I would suspect the valve-stem seals as you don't appear to be losing oil...

These seals (when worn) will allow a small amount of oil to seap into the bores after the engine has been shut off. Hence the smoke on cold starts... But you mentioned that it drips from the plug! That maybe more serious...

Just to confirm, have another look at a plug because the engine could still just be running rich, as the excess fuel may not be burning enough - Causing wet and very sooty plugs i.e. The unburnt fuel soaking the soot which would "look" like oil !! Have a close smell of the plug and we'll take it from their buddy...

Thank Dabsy I think your spot on I can smell fuel from the plugs but no smoke at all, If its running rich how can I fix this or is it

garage job?

Sorry Can you also tell me whats the best oil to put in it as im going to change it next week.

Thats better news mate (Phew!!)... As I mentioned earlier... Maybe start with the air-filter and work towards the engine - Removing components in turn, and thoroughly cleaning them one by one... ;)

Always bear in mind that you got away with thinking it was a serious issue, and it can be solved B)
