So since im on here for audio problems, i thought i would ask if anyone has had any problems with when you go to say pass someone the engine kinda starts to sputter. Not a real smooth acceleration if you put the pedal down. But when you let up it kinda smooths out. Thought it may of been plugs and replaced them but didnt solve problem. Does fine on highway driving but it just acts up if you wanna get up and go! Any ideas? Its an '04 325i

    mine does sometimes just miss a beat on acceleration but then its fine again, its always done it i just class it as a characteristic of the car now. it could be n injector tho....

    So many possible answers to this !! dodgy ECU,dodgy electrics,sticky accelerator etc etc. Im sure Dabsy will be along soon with the proper answers !!

    Mine is doing exactly the same at the moment... Running too rich can cause this, but it can be a little tedious finding the source of the problem - MAF, TB, TPS, Cam sensor, Fuel Pressure, Filtering etc... Has to be one, or a combination of these !!

    BTW My symptoms are :

    Accelerator too far = Massive hesitation... Back-off a little and it somewhat returns !!

    Heavy MPG !!

    Not much help at this stage, but just have a look at the spark-plugs and let us know the results ;)

    Mines the same after the new exhaust.............hence why its booked in for a remap now :)

    changed plugs when first started doing it and they looked fine but i went ahead and replaced them anyways. i'll keep on it and see if i can find anything else
