  1. I have an HK system in my car and as far as I know, they do it in the factory. It's a whole new ball game when it comes to having to wire them up and I believe the radio head unit will have to be able to support HK also (I don't know if they already do) but that's something you may have to look into also. Just from looking at the wiring diagram for the reg system to a HK system is going to take some time. You will prolly have more money wrapped up in puttin that system in than what its worth. Don't mean to be negative but I just kind of say it as I see it. Good luck with what ever you decide to do
  2. Replaced radio head unit = problem solved
  3. Well i found the ground wire and amp in the back of the trunk driver side and everything was good. I moved around the wires that go into the amp and nothing. But, when i do that behind the head unit it will make all the noise. I have heard that the head unit could be bad although i can't imagine the harnes making it do that. I would think that if it was the harnes you would still get music but it would just be distorted. That's what has me to believe that it is in the head unit. Any ideas if BMW can somehow test it before i decide to get a new one? Any info helps. Thanks
  4. changed plugs when first started doing it and they looked fine but i went ahead and replaced them anyways. i'll keep on it and see if i can find anything else
  5. So since im on here for audio problems, i thought i would ask if anyone has had any problems with when you go to say pass someone the engine kinda starts to sputter. Not a real smooth acceleration if you put the pedal down. But when you let up it kinda smooths out. Thought it may of been plugs and replaced them but didnt solve problem. Does fine on highway driving but it just acts up if you wanna get up and go! Any ideas? Its an '04 325i
  6. I got to thinking about the pins back there but i even tried to see if i could maybe pull them out under the dash but still no room. By any chance can you pop those pins out one by one and look at the connections to see if it may need to be re soldered? I dont want to get them confused on where they all go if i pull them all out at once. There are 15 pins and it looks like you can push them out with a small screwdriver but i dont want to take any chances on messin something up. I know some friends who have dome it to other vehicles but i just dont know about these
  7. well i opened up the player and took it all out and saw no problems with the circuit board or anything. put it back in and it starts to work again. i took the car out last night and on the way home it started acting up. so i leave it pluged in and pulled out off to the side while there was no static going through and messed with the wires in the harness and thats when it started doing it. they don't give a lot of room to work with it unless im guessing it goes up under neath the driver side where i will have to reach up in there and pull it out to actually see whats going on with it. so this could get interesting. guess we will see what happens. thanks and i'll keep you posted on what i find etc...
  8. have you ever had this problem before and am i going to have to dig into the player itself to see if i need to solder anything back up?
  9. No amp. Just the factory speakers and player. It just does it on the back two even if the radio is off. When i do have it on sometimes i can hear music then it just goes away. I would give it a tap when driving and it would make all sorts of noises through the speakers in the back. They dont give a lot of room to work with on the wiring harness to see if there is any loose connections. Im just at a loss of where to start. It just started doing this yesterday. I opened the trunk but the connection to the two speakers back there were good. I noticed when i took it out i could tap on the case and it would go through the speakers also. Im thinking maybe a loose ground some where? If so where do you find it to check it out?
  10. Have a 2004 325i and when stero is off the speakers still make a static and thump noise. Any ideas on what it could be? Dont really want to take it to the dealership and charge me a arm and a leg for it. Thanks
