Can any one help with this problem??

I have a 2004 E46 320 m sport td. I've just replaced the rear brake pads, discs and warning light sensor.(the front discs pads etc are fine). The warning light went off and stayed off for about a week then came back on. I have re-set the light by leaving the ignition on for 10 mins as advised by a local agent. The light goes off untill I drive the car for 10 feet then it comes back on. I have fitted a second new rear sensor in case it was faulty but the warning light still comes back on after re setting it.

Has anyone had the same problem? Does anyone have the solution to this problem?

Look foward to hearing from you.. It's really bugging me now!!!!

Tim.

Firstly welcome along,

I cant help you but I had a simular problem with my Megane, never solved it.

Is it an ABS warning of some sort?

Plus I will be changing my discs later this year and would like some advice on this too,

So I will be watching this post closely.

I know I shouldnt do this lol,

but im bumping this thread because im interested in the chap getting it sorted before I change my discs...

Hi Gav, thanks for the welcome.

I'm pretty sure its not an ABS issue cos there's a seperate warning light for that.

Still no nearer to solving it!!

If your going to replace your rear disc's you'll need to de adjust your handbrake in order to remove the disc's. This is done via the adjusting system inside the drum/disc, access is through a wheel stud hole. It's a simple job so dont stress...

Thanks again,

Tim

Just changed my handbrake shoes mate, simple job.

I took the disc off though, !Removed! hole was doing my head in :-)

Cheers anyway

Have replaced sensor in case it was faulty and it did not cure the problem. The sensor is correctly fitted.

Any other ideas??

Tim

If you find out though please post it up.
